THE CORE VALUES OF DAYSPRING CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP:

Dayspring Christian Fellowship believes that God is presently restoring to His people the power, purpose and purity that was once evidenced in His church, so that His kingdom may be established in the earth today. Therefore...

1.   We believe in the command of Jesus Christ to the church to witness in word and lifestyle to the saving power of His blood and resurrection, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the abundant life promised in the Bible.

2.   We believe that every Christian has a unique identity and destiny in Jesus, and that the local church must equip and release people to strategic ministry.

3.   We believe in the supernatural ministry and gifts of the Holy Spirit to and through the church to demonstrate the character of God.

4.   We believe in the principle of living in New Testament covenantal relationship with one another in Christ Jesus, so that mutual nurturing, edification, accountability, and personal and corporate growth may be realized.

5.   We believe that the Lord invites every believer to participate in extravagant and intimate worship, as directed by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.

6.   We believe in the present-day work of the Holy Spirit to renew and establish the biblical order of government in the church through apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists.

7.   We believe in the biblical pattern for healthy marriages and families, and seek opportunities within the context of the local body to see family relationships healed and strengthened.

8.   We believe that intercession and spiritual warfare are vital for the advancing of God's kingdom, the destruction of Satan's strategies, and the preparation of the Bride of Christ to reign with Jesus throughout eternity.

9.   We believe in the importance of planting and supporting churches regionally and internationally, and in supporting missionaries with whom God has placed us in relationship.

Dayspring Christian Fellowship Doctrinal Statement:

In order to identify Dayspring Christian Fellowship as conservative and evangelical in theology, we set forth this general statement of fundamental beliefs:

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. Therefore, our ministry emphasizes the exposition of God's Word from Genesis to Revelation, line upon line, precept upon precept.

2. We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3.  We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His birth from a virgin, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of God the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

4. We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; that man can be justified on the single ground of receiving the atoning work of our Lord Jesus Christ's shed blood; that only by God's grace, through faith alone, can we be saved and reconciled to God.

5. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life, and those who are lost unto eternal hell.

6. We believe in the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life; we further believe His baptism, power and gifts are available to born-again believers today.

7. We believe in the spiritual unity of disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Statement of Distinctives:

 We embrace:

1. The inerrancy of the Bible.

2. The continuance today of the diversities of spiritual gifts as found in I Corinthians 12:4-11.

3. The simplicity of divinely appointed church government and the plurality of church elders.

4. Dependence upon the Holy Spirit rather than fleshly promotion.

5. The teaching of the Word of God in a manner that is applicable and beneficial for growth and maturity.

THE LORD established Dayspring Christian Fellowship in the beginning of 1991, through a direct call to Pastors Jim and Teri Downs, to be a non-denominational, charismatic church that will minister the redeeming love of the Lord Jesus Christ regionally, nationally, and throughout the world.  We esteem and pursue the unity of the Spirit with every Bible-believing church in our area, and recognize that we need one another to be the Body of Christ.  The Lord's call and purpose for each local body is wonderfully distinctive.  His anointing upon Dayspring is distinctive in these areas.

APOSTOLIC: We are called to birth and to nurture new churches and ministries as the Holy Spirit leads, and in doing so will see the abundant fruit of many spiritual sons and daughters, nationally and internationally.

PROPHETIC: We are called to release the prophetic declarations and acts of the Lord for establishing the government of God, the breaking of yokes of bondage, and the confirmation of God's calling and destiny over the lives of individuals, families, ministries, churches, cities and nations.

HEALING and RESTORATION: We are called to appropriate the miraculous power of Jesus Christ to see God's children healed and restored spiritually, physically, emotionally and relationally, that He may be glorified in our midst and among the unsaved.  An important aspect of this call is to provide an atmosphere where weary and wounded ministers can come to be restored to wholeness and sent back out with joy to their fields of service.

PRAYER: We are called to be a mighty spearhead army of faith-filled intercessors, dangerous in the hands of our God for the pulling down of strongholds and the advancing of God's Kingdom.  We particularly receive the call to pray for the impossible; we serve the God of the impossible.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP: We are called to express the apostolic/prophetic mantle through creative and extraordinary new songs, dance, drama, writing and art that exalts Jesus Christ and brings freedom to His Body.  We have received the mandate of the Lord to use all of the arts to bring glory to His name, and He will send His sons and daughters from all over the world to teach us and to be taught by us in this mission to praise Him creatively.

THE LORD miraculously provided for us 37 beautiful acres of prime land several years ago. We traded 16 acres for this wonderful church building on four acres, which we inhabit debt-free, glory be to God! The new building will allow us to grow in numbers and to expand many areas of ministry. The remaining 21 acres of land we still steward is prayerfully preserved and waiting for God's vision to further unfold. In the days ahead, the Lord will save the lost, restore the prodigals, equip the saints, and prepare His Bride to rule and reign with Him in glory.
