Text Box: SOME NOTED WOMEN OF THE EARLY CHURCH
APPHIA (Philemon 2) May have been the wife of Philemon, and the mother or sister of
Archippus. A leader of the Christian community at Colosse.
EUODIA & SYNTYCHE (Philippians 4:2-3) Labored with Paul to spread the Gospel in Philippi.
JUNIA (Romans 16:7) Listed with Andronicus as of note among the apostles. Thought to be part of a husband-and-wife apostolic team.
MARY OF ROME (Romans 16:6) Labored much with Paul’s team.
PERSIS (Romans 16:12) Labored much in the Lord.
TRYPHENA & TRYPHOSA (Romans 16:12) Possibly twin sisters who labored in the Lord.
PHOEBE (Romans 16:1-2) Named as a diakonos (minister or deacon) of the church in Cenchrea and a helper of many, and Paul, as well.
PRISCILLA (Acts 18: 1-28; Romans 16:3; 1 Corinthians 16:19; 2 Timothy 4:19) Listed with her husband Aquila as fellow workers with Paul, half of a husband-and-wife pastoral team who also made tents. So close to Paul that he nicknamed her “Prisca”. Helped to start at least three churches: in Rome, Corinth and Ephesus.
LYDIA (Acts 16) Originally from Thyatira, a large industrial city, she manufactured, imported and exported fine clothing and dyes (purple) for the very rich. Relocated to Philippi, and became the first known convert to Christianity in the West. She also hosted the first church in Europe (Macedonia, now modern Greece) in her home.

Have you let the circumstances appear bigger than God?It’s time to remove the obstacles and run the race with clearer focus and stronger passion!
Read Romans 8:28; Galatians 6:9;
1 Thessalonians 5:24; Ephesians 2:10;
Philippians 4:13; Colossians 3:1-4.
